I’ve been extremely slow posting anything of my own from my recent trip to Assateague Island on  Maryland’s Atlantic shore.  I figure: why post my own work when Barry Long at Eye In Hand has been telling the tale so brilliantly over the past few weeks.  Amazingly, days after we left Assateague, Hurricane Sandy hit the island hard.  Our camp site in the Bayside Camping Area was likely under several feet of water.  As Barry says, timing is everything.
